Two kittiwakes fighting about something on the isle of may breeding colony. Their chicks have just about fledged by this time of year, but the adults are still very defensive of them!

I love capturing birds; do you have any tips for taking photos of birds without having them blurred out in the end? :D

hmmm what do you mean by 'the end'? do you mean the final shot or a part of the frame? =)

generally birds move quickly so my top tip would be have a fast shutter speed to freeze them in the frame if sharp images are what you're after

Beautiful shot, love how you captured them in mid-air without getting a blurry shot. ^^

Awesome action shot! :D The animal on the right is much darker and also has more ragged feathers. Does he/she still have to moult and are these old feathers? If so, does that also explain the darker colouration or is that entirely dependant of the individual? :)

they start their primary moult in april, so I doubt that all those feathers are old. They colour difference is either individual variation or just the light catching the other one differently in the shot I think. As for the more ragged feathers, prehaps the one on the right has been getting into more fights!
