Seal Pup - Curiousity

A weaned pup that liked to sleep beneath my hide checks me out as I start my daily survey. He's probably about 18 days old, becasue while his mother has weaned him and gone to sea he has only just started moulting his baby fur.

He soon got used to my comings and goings and didn't even bother to look up when I arrived after a few days!

Please note, this photograph was taken from a hide during a routine survey of the breeding colony, please do not approach or disturb breeding seals with pups. Mothers will abandon pups if people come too close, and then the pups will starve to death.
